Picking Up Stitches for a Button Band. Part 1

Tools and Materials: 3.5 mm and 2 mm circular needles, safety pins (or two locking stitch markers), crochet hook, swatch, yarn for picking up sts



The vertical gauge of the swatch is 36 rows = 10 cm (4 mm needles).
The swatch is 36 rows high.
The band will be worked in 1*1 ribbing with the horizontal gauge 28 sts = 10 cm.
So we have to pick up 28 sts per 36 rows, or 7 sts per every 9 rows.
